Shinda Basic School greatly appreciate the efforts of local community and international volunteers, who despite of very unique, foreign and most of the time hard environments, have been dedicated to the vision of the school and for the benefit of the children of Tanzania. There are no exact words that can express the gratitude and the happiness of these children and their families.

Through practical and activity teaching approach,Shinda Basic is proving to be the only non-government school to address the acute education issue in rural areas in Tanzania in a rather modern way; and through volunteers like you, there is great hope and expectation in the lives of this young generation.

We are seeking your help and volunteer effort regardless of how short your stay will be, because even the short time well invested will change a life many many times and make the earth a rather exciting place, despite other challenges that we know still affects many families in developing countries.

Shinda basic is still at its very infant stage of development and growth and unfortunately can not affort to pay for airfares or accomodation, however through local resources, and the administration of the Head Master, Mr. Kimaro we can arrange for affordable accomodation around town or with a local family within a few weeks upon your arrival. We will also be able to request extended visa for a stay beyond three months in Tanzania. Previous volunteers enjoyed the teaching experience and the opportunity to explore the beauty of natural resources with added advantage of being able to converse in Swahili.
